Welcome to our new House Captains Our new house captains for 2019 - 2020 were announced today! Flying Kites! Ash class have had lots of fun on Kite Day. They decorated their kites with colourful stickers before having a go on a bouncy castle and slide. They then flew their kites on the school field. Bouncy castle fun Bouncy castle early morning fun for Oak class. The William Ransom Orbit Anything Can Happen if you Let It! That is the message Mary Poppins gives us at the end of our summer show this year and I like to think this is the message we give everyone in school. Pirate Day! It was Pirate Day in Ash Class today and they did a fantastic job of dressing up for the occasion. Bread Rolls 'Prove' a Success Today was bread day in Willow Class as they each made a bread roll of their creation - one savoury and one sweet. Pirate day What a great day we had being pirates! The fire service visit Ash Class! Today we were very fortunate to be visited in school by the local fire service. They talked to the children about fire safety and showed the special clothes they wear when they are working. Year 3 Meet the Teacher presentation Meet the teacher presentation for Year 3 parents. Oak class run their mile Oak class were well supported as they started their warm up prior to running a mile for charity today. Local History Walk Report by Anusha about the Local History Walk River Oughton Trip As part of our Geography work on Rivers, we visited the River Oughton. Summary of the parent survey Thank you to the 98 parents/carers who took the time to complete the online survey. This is the highest number of responses we have had so far. Key Stage 2 had a BLAST - literally! On Thursday 4th July, the whole of Key Stage 2 went on a school trip to the Broadway Theatre in Letchworth to see the 'Ministry of Science' live stage show. Race for Life Family Event Following the success of the event in 2017, William Ransom School will again be holding our very own 'Race for Life' event on Friday 12th July to raise money to support the work of Cancer Research UK. 'Facetime a Farmer' As part of our DT unit on bread, Willow Class today Facetimed a Farmer. Our farmer is called Neil and runs an arable farm called Strathore in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Art Days in Holly class What a fantastic time we had on our art days! Beautiful batik art from Willow Class During our recent 'Art Days', Willow Class enjoyed exploring the technique of batik dying to create some fabulous art in the style of Friedrich Hundertwasser. Sustainability assembly from Willow Class Willow Class shared their knowledge about sustainability with the rest of the school today. Year One Visit Shuttleworth What an interesting day we all had at The Shuttleworth Collection! Let's Get Cooking Chicken Biryani & Fruit Pops Our final session this term brought new taste sensations and a new recipe! Summer fete success! The summer fete on Saturday was a roaring success! The rain didn’t dampen our spirits and we are very grateful to everyone that came to support the school.
