Burning off the calories and putting them back again! Oak class burnt off lots of calories and then ate delicious cakes and put them all on again! Is that Willow Class... or some vicious Vikings? Willow class shared their Viking knowledge with the rest of the school today in their class assembly. Basketball runners up Well done to the basketball team who went to Hitchin Boys’ School to take part in a competition on Thursday afternoon. Table Tennis at HBS Well done to the four table tennis teams who went to Hitchin Boys’ School to take part in a table tennis competition on Tuesday afternoon. 121 Shoeboxes - Wow!! Thank you to everyone who brought a Christmas Shoebox into school last week. We had a total of 121. Victorian Assembly Holly class performed their class Assembly all about the Victorians. They did a fantastic job! They all spoke loudly and clearly and had learnt their lines very well. Chestnut Class Assembly This is our Fairtrade Assembly. A win for both teams against St Andrews! Both teams braved the cold this evening to play a fixture against St Andrews in a competitive games from both teams. Activity Day We had a lot of fun during the Key Stage 1 activity day. We had a chance to try; orienteering, indoor athletics, dance and speed stacking. Cherry and Chestnut visit Cadbury World As part of their geography topic, Cherry and Chestnut Class spent an exciting day at Cadbury World in Birmingham. Gruffalo We had a lot of fun getting on the train to Stevenage to visit the Gordon Craig Theatre, where we watched the Gruffalo! Sense Detectives We enjoyed using our five senses in this experiment to identify a missing teddy bear. Blast Off! We enjoyed counting backwards in maths from 20 to 0. Play sessions After the Big Write on Fridays, Hazel Class enjoy getting creative with the toys! Our trip to the British Schools Museum The children in Cedar Class took a trip to the British Schools Museum. We have been learning about the Victorians and wanted to experience what life would be like in a real Victorian School! Singing Workshop for Willow Class On Monday, Willow Class was welcomed by Princess Helena College for a singing workshop Rufus Frowde (one of PHC's music teachers). Farms, fun and a lot of firsts for our new Reception children The new Reception children certainly have had a busy first half term at school. Victorian for a day On Monday 9th October, Holly class visited British School Museum in Hitchin. We have been learning about life in Victorian times in our History lessons this term, so it was great to be able to experience it first-hand. Training dragons in grammar! Last week Beech Class gave an assembly to the rest of the school about the work they have been doing on How to Train Your Dragon. Eureka! Willow Class in the Lab Willow Class had a great time today exploring forces at a science workshop at The Princess Helena College. Eyes down for bingo fun! Eyes down for bingo fun - Friday 13th October! Maple visit to Celtic Harmony Maple class had a great time when they visited the Stone Age! Cherry and Chestnut Class visit IWM Duxford On Friday 29th September, Cherry and Chestnut Class visited IWM Duxford as part of their history work on 'Britain Since 1930'. A baby comes to visit! In our Science lessons we have been looking at animals, including humans. We have been learning all about different animals, where they live and what they need to survive. Great first fixture! We had an excellent start to our netball season with lots of great play! Money madness! Cedar Class have all made an excellent mathematical start to the year. Willow's Wonderful World The annual William Ransom Festival of Languages was enjoyed by Willow Class as they travelled the world and learned lots of new languages and facts.
