Our Gruffalo Themed Class Assembly We performed in front of the whole school on October 11th 2017. Willow go Viking! To support their learning in History, Willow Class spent the day immersing themselves in all things Viking. Cedar’s Minibeast Hunt! Cedar Class took a trip out to the nature area to hunt for minibeasts! Information from Mrs Driver 2018 looks to be a very busy year for us in school. There are lots of exciting trips and visits being planned as well as some different events in school. The William Ransom Orbit I am sure many of you have heard the song The Christmas Alphabet! Well, for my piece for this edition of The Orbit, I have decided to write The William Ransom Alphabet! Christmas takes over in Reception! We hope you all enjoyed the Reception Christmas show. With all the practising for the show it’s a wonder that we fit anything else in this term, though looking back through the photos serves as a reminder of just how much we have squeezed in. Merry Christmas from the SPA Looking back over the last few months I think it is safe to say that it certainly has been an eventful first half of the year, with a number of fantastic events that would not have been as successful as they were without your continued support. Fabulous Felt Phone cases Today Willow Class finished their unique felt phone cases. Girls and boys table tennis teams through to County round Congratulations to both the four boys and the four girls who won the Hitchin round of the table tennis and went on to represent North Herts. Tuesday 12th December School open as normal but beware of the ICE! School is Open! Monday 11th December School is open Maple class feel the force! Maple class have been investigating forces in Science. Our new Art Club We are delighted to have an art club running in school this term and already there are some wonderful results! Willow Class Rocks! Willow Class has reached the end of its ‘Rock’ unit in music. The children have really enjoyed listening and singing along with anthems such as Eye of the Tiger. Christmas Cakes Cherry & Chestnut Class made some amazing Christmas Cakes Winter Wonderland 2017 We had a wonderful day at The Winter Wonderland! What an amazing day we had on Saturday at The Winter Wonderland. Thank you from the SPA A great big 'Ho Ho Ho' was heard down the hallways on Saturday 18th November as Santa stopped by Winter Wonderland and he was sure to bring the spirit of Christmas with him. Our visit to Mill Green Museum On Wednesday 15th November, Hazel and Pine class travelled to Welwyn on a 70 seater coach to learn more about The Great Fire of London. Hunting for Minibeasts In Holly class this term we are learning about habitats as part of our science work. We headed into the nature area at school to see what minibeasts we could find. Trip to Mill Green Museum We were very lucky to have an extremely fun school trip yesterday. Burning off the calories and putting them back again! Oak class burnt off lots of calories and then ate delicious cakes and put them all on again! Is that Willow Class... or some vicious Vikings? Willow class shared their Viking knowledge with the rest of the school today in their class assembly. Basketball runners up Well done to the basketball team who went to Hitchin Boys’ School to take part in a competition on Thursday afternoon. Table Tennis at HBS Well done to the four table tennis teams who went to Hitchin Boys’ School to take part in a table tennis competition on Tuesday afternoon. 121 Shoeboxes - Wow!!
