I can't think of a better way to start the week than by saying a massive 'Thank You' to everyone that attended our Quiz and Curry Night on Friday! British Science Week Waste and Recycling Assembly As part of British Science Week, today's assembly was hosted by Monika from Amey and focused on waste and recycling. Mexican food Holly and Cedar have been learning about Mexico in their Geography lessons. World Book Day-dressing up! Holly had a fantastic time dressing up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day. World Book Day Assembly On Wednesday 28th February Holly Class performed an Assembly about World Book Day. Heroes on the Runway The recycling superheroes strutted their stuff for the school on their fashion runway. Eat your heart out Paris, London and New York Fashion Week! Recycled Fashion Heroes Willow Class spent Thursday making their recycled fashion superhero costumes and then performed a fashion show to the whole school on Friday! Holly Class investigate houses in D&T Holly Class have been investigating houses in their D&T lessons. Using the 3 Little Pigs as inspiration, the children built houses made of straw, sticks and bricks. World Book Day Fun!! World Book Day is one of our favourite days at William Ransom! Jungle Bungle comes to William Ransom! To kick start our activities for World Book Day we were treated to a West End performance of Jungle Bungle! Recycled Fashion Show! On Saturday 24th February a group of pupils from William Ransom took part in the St Christopher's School in Letchworth Wonderful World Book Day Willow Class pulled out all the stops this World Book Day with the variety of characters on display and the huge effort put into the costumes. All dressed up in Oak today The children in Oak today dressed up as a characters out of their books. They wrote about their character and made some bunting to show the different characters. World War 2 Day World War 2 Day for Cherry and Chestnut Class Road Safety Year 6 had a workshop on Road Safety A group of Year 6 Writers met a local author A group of keen Year 6 Writers met local author, Zoe Filbigg, and listened to a talk and participated in a workshop. Old and New toys in Reception Our learning has focused on bears and old and new toys. Information from Mrs Driver This has been another eventful half term in the life of William Ransom. Our roofing works are progressing but they have been hampered by an unusually wet and cold January. Investigating soil Maple have been investigating the properties of different types of soil. Selling Floodlights In Science, Willow Class has been looking at properties of materials. Today they looked at electrical conductors. Year 1 Materials Workshop On Friday 12th January, Hazel Class enjoyed a 90 minute workshop to launch our new topic of Materials in Science. Materials Workshop We had a very exciting visit, where we were able to learn all about materials. This gave us the chance to explore different materials and their properties. Wonder Drama Wonder Role-play Our Assistant Cook wins HCL Employee of the term! Vanessa Lemm, our Assistant Cook has been awarded Herts Catering Employee of the term! Orienteering Orienteering in Cherry and Chestnut Classes KS1 Activity Day On Friday 13th October 2017, we enjoyed a range of activities. Our Gruffalo Themed Class Assembly We performed in front of the whole school on October 11th 2017. Willow go Viking! To support their learning in History, Willow Class spent the day immersing themselves in all things Viking. Cedar’s Minibeast Hunt! Cedar Class took a trip out to the nature area to hunt for minibeasts!
