Aliens in reception this week

This was our last week of learning about space and we ventured into alien territory. Making our own aliens was an exciting activity and a chance to let the imagination run riot!  Describing their aliens in writing on Tuesday was more challenging but the children tried hard to use some descriptive language to aid an illustrator to be able to draw their alien.

The children enjoyed the Moppy books by Jane Asher and wrote their own Moppy is Angry story for Big Write prior to hearing the original.
Next week is very busy as we start to prepare a class assembly. Please look out for the piece of writing which they have to learn and practise saying in their loud voices. Please let  me know on Monday if your daughter does not have a pair of black or grey leggings or tights and a black, grey or white t-shirt to bring in for dressing as an elephant. Boys will be fine in their long grey trousers and white shirts. Masks will be made in school next week.

Please read the letter sent home today about homework sentence writing.

Advanced warning that Pirate day has changed to Monday 11th July. Please remember that costumes do not need to be elaborate and no weapons are allowed as we do not want full scale warfare!

Please return all library books and any resources that have been borrowed and belong to the reception class next week. Try and remember your child’s hat, sun cream and bottle of water as we try to keep your child safe and hydrated during warm summer days at school.

If you have any concerns about any aspect of your child’s learning or general well-being in school, please do not hesitate to come in for a chat.

Enjoy your weekend.
