Back to School!

Thank you to all of you who have donated books to the various libraries we have set up across the school. Many classes have developed their own class library to stop the mixing of bubbles and we are very excited with the new non-fiction library we have set up for upper KS2 in Larch. These books are for children to access whilst in school but are not for taking home. We know that some children prefer non-fiction books so it is great they can access these at times when classes are reading. There is no doubt just by reading something every day, and interacting with that reading, a child’s understanding of language will increase greatly.

We are also extremely grateful to the SPA who have raised funds for the development of The Hedgerow. This is a new reading area for lower KS2 children and there is a lovely selection of new reading material for the children to choose from. Some children will be moved onto this area even if they have been using the Reading Tree as it means we are sharing all the resources around more fairly. We are so lucky to have the SPA raising funds for us in the way they do and I am very grateful for the part everyone plays in supporting the school the way they do.

Thank you so much for the fantastic response to our Shoebox Collection for Link to Hope. We had 109 boxes which was absolutely wonderful! Thank you to everyone who contributed!

It’s that time of year when there are so many fund raising campaigns it is hard to keep up with them all. It is Children in Need on Friday 13th November and unfortunately, we are unable to have our usual cake sale! We have decided to hold a non-uniform day instead. If children would like to come to school in non-uniform clothes then we ask that they make a donation of £1 which will go to Children in Need. Please ensure outfits are appropriate for a normal school day’s activity and that sensible footwear is worn.

Please take time to check that we have the correct email address for you. This is very important if any year group goes into a period of self-isolation.

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to make contact.
