Boy’s league game at home against Purwell

A league game for the boys tonight and all were raring to go. Unfortunately the Purwell boys were slow to arrive and due to poor light the girl’s game had to be played first. This was unlucky for Craig who had an appointment and was forced to leave without playing. Despite this disappointment Tommy stepped in as sub and played a superb first half. Ben and Oliver supported one another well with a great pass across the goal mouth narrowly missing the goal. An unselfish pass from Leighton to Oliver resulted in Oliver’s first goal shortly after. With some excellent passing and clearances by Ben and the William Ransom defence, Oliver once again ran on to score as he recovered from a huge push in the back and Tommy scored from a rebound just before half time.

The second half saw an early goal from Purwell, a superb goal as the player took the ball skilfully past the William Ransom defence. Oliver performed much the same move ten minutes into the second half. A goal mouth scramble saw Edward receive the ball on the goal line and slot it into a gap past the keeper and Leighton not to be beaten added his own goal to the tally just before the end of the game. A 6-1 win for William Ransom well done boys.

We are still waiting to hear who we will play in the next round of the Wix, but our next A-Team match is home to Cockernhoe on the 11th February.
