Class 2 visit the Gurdwara

Yesterday, Class 2 visited the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara. There was a lot of excitement about the trip and the children were keen to learn more about Sikhism.

On arrival, everybody removed their shoes and covered their heads. We were met by Harchet Singh Bains, who took us in to the prayer hall. Some children had brought a small monetary donation which they put into the box in front of the Guru Granth Sahib (holy book). Others offered a word of thanks. The children were in awe of the wonderful decorations in the prayer hall.

We enjoyed a very informative talk, during which the children learnt more about Sikhism and the Gurdwara itself. After this, there was an opportunity for a delicious snack, as sharing food is customary for Sikhs.

The children really enjoyed the visit and learnt a lot of new facts. Thank you to the parents who offered lifts and made the trip possible.
