Class 4/5 invited to pottery workshop at The Priory

On Friday, Class 4/5 spent the afternoon at The Priory doing a pottery workshop. They were invited into the Art Department to create their own gargoyles using clay, which will be fired in the kiln over summer and returned to the children in September.

They began the session by talking about what a gargoyle is actually for, where they might find them and discussing the various features. Once they had done this it was time to design their own and then get making. Some had happy smiley faces while others went for a more scary expression, but nearly all of them had sticking out tongues! It was quite a messy activity but lots of fun and I think you’ll agree they come up with the very unique and creative designs.
