Climb Every Mountain!

Those of you who know me, know that I love a good musical, and today was just like The Sound of Music!

After a good night’s sleep, the children all woke to their favourite things – a hearty breakfast and the sun shining across the valley. We all got organised for the day and set off for Mount Snowdon. We drove through a mixture of weather where there were Raindrops on Roses and a few Whiskers on Kittens!

Arriving at the car park at Pen y Pass we all wrapped up warmly and set off up the Miner’s Track. Mr Williams introduced us to a new National Park Ranger – Alyn, who joined us in the first part of the walk. We stopped at various points to be told things about the National Park, including naming some of the Alpine flowers, unfortunately, no Edelweiss!

It was a challenging climb for everyone, but we all made it to the top and enjoyed some spectacular views. Coming down, everyone livened up and even Mrs Driver skipped down as if she was Sixteen going on Seventeen.

Back at the coach we decided to make an extra stop in Betys Y Coed where there was time for a well- deserved ice cream – another of our favourite things!

This evening Mr Williams told us all the story of The Oakley family and we all grew to understand the reason the Plas has developed in the way it has.

Now all is quiet in the rooms around us and everyone is recharging their batteries for the day ahead, therefore… So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu!
