Dreaming of seaside holidays!

This week the reception class were thinking about holidays at the seaside, past and present. The children heard stories about the going to the seaside and looked at features of a beach through Google Earth.

The beach pictures done by the children were great and the children enjoyed looking back at seaside holidays in the past. Mrs Poynter told them all about Punch and Judy and they watched a show on YouTube.

Our Sainsburt’s Games Day was a bonus for the lovers of PE. A whole day with no writing, no hard sums, out in the fresh air all day, amazing! The children really showed the range of physical skills that they have mastered this year and show great promise to uphold the William Ransom sporting prowess in the future.

Next week it is ‘pirate day’ on Monday to raise some money for Samali and learn about pirates through stories and fun activities. PE kit will come home on Tuesday and I would ask you to check that you don’t have another child’s kit. If you have acquired something that does not belong to your child please return it on Wednesday. All kit must be named before it returns to school in September remembering to check that everything still fits!

Have a good weekend only five more early mornings and then a lovely long summer holiday! You can see what my views on this weeks ‘talk topic’ would be!
