Early Season Results

It has been a typically frantic start to the season, with lots of fixtures taking place already and plenty more coming up soon.

Both the boys and the girls teams particpated in the early season rallies and performed very well. The boys managed to come through their matches without conceeding a goal and playing some excellent football. The girls also did extremely well and had started winning matches before the rain unfortunately brought a halt to proceedings.

This is an excellent way to start the season and it gave both teams the opportunity to get used to playing together and also gave us a chance to try some different formations. From the rally and training sessions so far, the boy's captain and vice captain were chosen. Congratulations to Rory, who will be leading the team, as captain this year, with Noah ready to step in when needed.

Since their rally the boys have had two matches. They started off at Wilshere Dacre, where they did manage to control a lot of possession and scor some excellent goals. However, some poor defending and a lack of concentration meant that the boys found themselves losing the match by 5 goals to 4.

Fortunately the boys took a much better attitude into our opening cup fixture of the season, away at Oughton. Some excellent passing and quick shots helped the boys to a comfotable 5 – 1 win. This was capped by a perfect hattrick from Noah.

Hopefully this good form can be carried through to the ESFA tournament at Wilshere Dacre next Thursday.
