The William Ransom girls took part in the ESFA football tournament at Wilshere Dacre on Wednesday evening. They played 3 games in their group against Cockernhoe, Our Lady and Breachwood Green. They drew all of the short ten minute games 0-0 which was a good result.
As Cockernhoe had beaten Breachwood Green they went through as winners of group 2 into the semi-finals. There had to be a ‘toss up’ between William Ransom and Our Lady and William Ransom won the toss and went through as runners up in the group to play against Ickleford the winners of group 1. Unfortunately despite some excellent play, William Ransom could not catch up when they went 2-0 down and are therfore out of the running to go through to the next level. Mary Exton beat Ickleford and go through to represent Hitchin at the next round. We wish them all the very best and hope that they do well.
On Monday the team will play Purwell in the first round of the Wix Cup. We wish them good luck.
