On Tuesday of this week, William Ransom made their first ever food bank collection. The Orbit Team and the School Council teamed up to spread some Christmas spirit by supporting 'Letchworth Foodbank'.
Just last week members of the two groups came up with the idea of making a collection of food and toiletries in school to support people in Hitchin, Letchworth and Baldock who may go hungry this Christmas. They quickly set to work, writing letters to inform parents and telling all members of the school.
The collection was arranged for Tuesday 15th and the donations poured in. Members of the Orbit and the School Council were on hand to sort out the goods and to box them ready for delivery to the Hitchin collection point. Four members of the teams accompanied staff to deliver the boxes which were gratefully received. All donations are then taken to a warehouse in Letchworth and distributed from there.
We were overwhelmed by the number of donations made and the extreme generosity of parents of the school and would like to thank everyone for supporting this worthy cause.
