Getting creative in Holly class

We started this half term in D&T by making our stick puppets, following our designs and adapting them where necessary.

Continuing on the puppet theme, in computing, we used Puppet Pals on the iPads to create stories by recording voices to go with different characters.

In art, we are continuing our pattern and colour work by focusing on famous artist Bridget Riley and a local artist, both of whom work with stripes. Holly class needed a steady hand to make sure their stripes were even and straight, and enjoyed mixing the paint to create a particular mood.

Linking to our English work, we were also lucky enough to have a story workshop. Using only movement, we were able to retell the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Everyone enjoyed pretending to eat lots of sweets and chocolate!
