Great Fire of William Ransom

We have been building up to this day for a long time now, with a lot of work going into making our houses and learning all about the Great Fire of London.

It has been a very busy day for Pine class and the pinnacle came as we set out our houses ready for the fire. We took them to the playground and made our own street. Then we started a fire at one end and watched as it spread from one house to the next. Soon the entire stree was engulfed and our houses were destroyed.

This was a lot of fun and really showed how quickly fire can spread.

After lunch we wrote all about the the fire, in our own newspaper articles. We finished the day watching the poetry recital with the rest of the school. This was a great day but with everything going on it did mean that we ran out of time for our spellings and so they will be done on Monday instead.
