Here we go again!

Dear Parents

This was a letter I did not want to write, however, following tonight’s announcement, William Ransom will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday January 5th) for all pupils. This is to give us time to organise our home learning and our critical worker provision.

We hope to be able to open from Wednesday 6th January  for those children regarded as vulnerable or those of critical workers. In order to facilitate this we will be sending out a form first thing tomorrow to ascertain how many parents will need to access school provision. Unlike the last lockdown we are concerned about the transmission of the virus within school and so would request that this facility is only accessed in essential cases.

For all other pupils, school will be closed from tomorrow until further notice.

The teaching staff spent time in school today preparing to open tomorrow and now their plans have to change! Therefore there will be no home learning set for tomorrow, this will begin on Wednesday 6th January.

Please spread the word amongst other parents for those not on twitter or accessing the website. A more detailed letter will be sent out tomorrow when I have access to school communications in school. Unfortunately we received the information from the Prime Minister at the same time as the rest of the country!

I am deeply sorry we have had to follow this course of action but as this new variant of Covid 19 is so much more transmissible, we need to do more to keep our school community safe.

I will always be available on email if you have any queries.

Kind regards and stay safe.
