Home Learning Update 2

Dear Parents,

I hope the second week at home is going well and that you’re looking forward to Easter. In case you hadn’t noticed there is more than just the home learning pack for free on www.classroomsecrets.co.uk. On the homepage you will see a grey tab near the top called free resources, if you click on this you can filter your search by year/topic etc. to find more worksheets. The discussion problems can be quite tricky and so are better worked on together, but they serve as a great tool to work on those reasoning skills. The link below should take you to all the free resources for Year 4. It might also be worth just looking at topics and even though they might not come under Year 4, they may still be accessible for your child. There are ones on Ancient Rome, Anglo-Saxons, Antarctica, Beach Safety, Easter, Rainforests, Roald Dahl and VE Day. There are consolidation packs as well which are great for revision.

As for reading, I have set up access for each child on Fiction Express where they can read e-books and work on the activities related to them. Please email me for their individual login and password and then you can go to en.fictionexpress.com/login to log in and get started.

Also, you can currently download Kid Normal as an audio book for free so if your children haven’t read it or want to read it again, try it out! I started listening whilst doing my ironing at the weekend!

I’m aware there are lots of Maths and English activities out there, so I’ve found this on Twinkl that gives you a daily timetable of activities and the afternoon ones tend to be based on Foundation subjects.

Finally, don’t forget to send me your photos so I can share them with the rest of the class. You can do this via email or Twitter. It would be great to see all the things the children have been up to but especially their Easter creations for our competition.

Please get in touch if you need anything. I’m on my email (l.eldridge@wransom.herts.sch.uk) and Twitter (@Beech_WR).

Kind Regards,

Miss Eldridge ity47 \lsdlock
