Hooray! The Easter holidays are here.

This has been a busy four days learning about the celebrations associated with Easter.

The children heard the Easter story and watched a cartoon version from a BBC dvd. Then they made a book showing the main events in the Easter story. In the afternoon they looked at different artists interpretations of the Easter story and used the water colour crayons to do their own pictures.

Easter crafts available to do throughout the week included an Easter card, an Easter basket, pom-pom chicks and Easter hats. A hat parade around the school was a highlight of Thursday morning .

In food technology the children were shown how chocolate could be melted and then how it went hard again as they made chocolate nests. We also looked at how Easter eggs are made in the Cadbury’s factory which made us all very hungry .

Don’t forget there is some homework to guide you and support your child in their learning.

Please look through your child’s PE bag and check that you do not have any one else’s clothes as there have been a few mix ups this term. Not all clothing is labelled which makes it very difficult for us to sort out .

There is a photographic competition in the Orbit. Your child has been using a digital camera in ICT so get them to take an Easter themed picture and enter.

We wish you all a happy and peaceful Easter and look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday 16th April.
