Information from Mrs Driver

Just a few things to draw to your attention before the end of term:

Please ensure ALL children are in the playground before the bell goes at 8.45am. We have noticed a few running in late. They are the ones who get into trouble yet we know in many cases it is parents’ fault that children are late. Please help your child by ensuring they get into school on time.

Could I also remind you that on Wednesday 16th July at 9.00, we will be holding a session for all parents to come into school to meet their child’s new class teacher for about 20 minutes? This is an ideal opportunity for you to put a face to name if the teacher is new to you, and to find out a few things about the class for next year.

The Y5 girls’ who ran the Make and Bake Stall in aid of Great Ormond St Hospital raised a magnificent £100. This was their own initiative and they organised it all themselves. So congratulations to Keziah, Abigail and friends and thank you all for your support of this venture.

For those of you with children involved in Blast Off next week, we had our final dress rehearsal this morning! It looks like the show lasts about an hour and a half so we would like the children back in school, dressed in their Blast Off T shirts at 7.00pm and they will be ready for collection from the back of the school at about 9.00pm. Thank you for your support with the show and I hope those of you watching next week enjoy the show!

As always at the end of the year we have staff moving on. You already know about Miss Khela and Miss Cottee, but we also have to say goodbye to Mrs Draper who is leaving to take up a position at Whitehill. I am sure you will all join me in wishing her well. We have appointed Mrs Fiona Halliwell as her replacement and also Mrs Lara Mitchell as a new support teacher across the school.

Please ensure all inhalers and epi-pens are collected from school on the last day of term and returned on the first day next year. Please check their expiry dates and make sure we have ‘in code’ medicines at the start of the new year.

I look forward to seeing you at one of the events before the end of term.

Yours sincerely

Mary Driver
