Information from Mrs Driver

Wow!! How lucky were we with the weather on Sunday?!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came along and supported our nature day, it was a fantastic day and the amount that was achieved was astonishing! We have created a long path, bordered with wood along the edge and covered in bark, a bug mansion and a clearing with 3 large benches so that classes can sit and work in this area. We have new steps leading into the area and we have started labelling the trees with posts with pyrographed labels. It is wonderful, so thank you to everyone who provided the muscle!!

I have received a few comments recently about the parking situation in Holdbrook. There should be no need for any parent to drive up Holdbrook – this is our exit route so please drive through the school grounds and park further away. Please do not park across driveways or where people in drives or parking bays cannot turn to get out. I have been told by the transport consultants used by Herts County Council that they have been surveying the streets around the school at peak periods – i.e. school drop off times. It will be interesting to read their findings and I will share anything relevant with you all.

We have noticed quite a few damaged reading books lately caused by leaking water bottles! Please put water bottles in something waterproof to protect everything else in the school bag! Thank you.

Thank you for responding so positively to the new online booking system for parents evening. There have been some slight teething troubles but hopefully we have solved them as they have arisen. The information for this relates to the data sheets we have sent home for you to check. It is essential that these are returned and that all information is correct. This is what we will use if we need to contact you. If you change your mobile number or your email address, please tell us!

The school office does get very busy in the morning, where possible, please send all paperwork and money in with your child. The children are very reliable and it starts to give them some responsibility. That will mean the office staff have more time to talk to individuals, to pass on information and solve problems. Thank you for your assistance with this.

As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to make an appointment to come and discuss these with me.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
