Information from Mrs Driver

Just a reminder that tomorrow we have our Harvest Festival in school. We would like all the children to bring in a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable. All the produce will be put together in hampers and raffled off and the proceeds will go to the Hitchin Partnership Hardship fund, supporting families in Hitchin. Thank you for supporting us with this.

We are noticing an increasing number of girls coming to school wearing earrings. This contravenes our health and safety guidelines. The information from The Association for Physical Education is that earrings should not be worn and we state that earrings should not be worn to school. We do tape earrings over but the girls don’t like this. Please help us and them by not sending them to school with earrings in.

Please remember that your child is an able postman. All letters can be sent to the office via your child and don’t need to be handed straight to the office. Help to make them a little independent!

You will receive a flyer from the SPA today advertising the Murder Mystery Evening. Many people have asked how this works: A group of talented (?) actors act out a short play where one member of the cast is murdered. The audience sit around tables so they can discuss the events of the evening. During the interval when fish & chips are served they decide who the murderer is and why, and then the second half is acted out revealing the murderer! Prizes are awarded to the table who guess correctly, identifying all the clues. It is always a very popular event, so make sure you book your tickets early!

After a very successful AGM last night, the SPA are making plans for this year’s Winter Wonderland! Please watch out for Tweets asking for donations and for volunteers to help out on the day. I am reliably informed by my own Christmas Elf that there are only 87 sleeps until Christmas!!

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to come in to see me.

I look forward to seeing you in school in the very near future.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
