Come and see our new facilities
As I mentioned in my previous newsletter we are opening the school on the 30th September 2016 for parents to come and see our wonderful new facilities. The school will be open from 5.00pm until 8.00pm and there will be staff available to show you around. Some of the Teaching Assistants have offered to put on refreshments for a donation towards some play equipment for the new reception playground. We would ask that children remain at home as they have seen the facilities and we anticipate the school being extremely busy. There is no need to let us know you are coming, please just come along to the front entrance of the school and we will show you around!
Photographs and videos
When your child started school you will all have filled in a form giving us permission to take photographs and videos of your children for use in school. These images are used for displays and some will appear on Twitter, which is a protected account and we only accept our current parents and staff as followers. Other photos appear on the school website where we try to use groups of children and they are not identified by name. Occasionally we are approached by the local press to send photographs and if they want names of children we will have made contact with you directly. Very occasionally we are contacted by television if they are doing an educational news story. Unless the filming is of a large group, we will contact individual parents to ensure you are happy with the story and that your child is appearing. We do remind parents not to upload pictures and videos to social media sites.
I am afraid we have had a few problems with people parking across driveways recently. Please remember we are in a residential area and not everyone is associated with the school. When you are coming to school please don’t block people’s driveways, even for a short while, it is extremely inconsiderate and annoying for people living there.
The parking spaces we have in school now are for staff use. We now have space for teaching assistants and official visitors to park within the school grounds which should free up the roads leading up to school for the residents. Please do not use these roads for all day parking.
Beetle Drive/SPA AGM
Don’t forget the SPA are running a Beetle Drive on Friday evening, 23rd September, from 6.30 – 8.00. It is a family event and is great fun for children and adults of all ages! Contact the school office if you would like to join us!
This is followed by the SPA AGM on Monday 26th September at 8.00. All parents are eligible to attend the AGM to find out about how we raise money and then how we spend it! Please come along and join us and I promise there will be no pressure to join the committee!
Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to come in to see me. I look forward to seeing you in school in the very near future.
