Information from Mrs Driver

Summer fete
Please keep the fete date – 9th June 2018 – firmly fixed in your mind and watch out for the letters coming out asking for different items. There are rotas up in the reception classrooms and in the office area for you to sign up to help out. This is our major fund raising event of the year and we are currently looking to extend and update our Key Stage 1 reading books. Money raised from the fete will support this and other projects around school.

School journey
On Sunday 20th May our Year 6 pupils are away on their week long residential to North Wales. Miss Ayliffe and I are both accompanying them so if you have an urgent matter whilst we are away, please see Mrs Light or Mrs Mackilligan. Let’s hope we see some Welsh sunshine!

Collection
We are noticing an increased number of children being collected late from school. Our school day finishes at 3.20 and our teaching assistants are not paid after this time. Invariably they are still with children until 3.50pm which is unfair on them and the children. We all recognise there are unforeseen circumstances which mean you are late collecting your children and we are happy to accommodate these, however, it appears to be the same children all the time. We would ask that parents collect children from the school gates, which leaves the office clear for outside agencies. Once again, if something happens and you know you are going to be late, let the school office know and we will keep your child in the dining room. If you would like information about the agencies offering wrap around care, please contact the school office.

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to come in to see me.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
