It’s Electric!

In science, Beech class are learning about electricity and in particular electrical circuits.

This week the class made a circuit and then tested lots of different materials to see if they are electrical conductors or insulators.

Materials included paper clips, staples, lollypop sticks, cotton wool, foil, plastic spoons, tiddlywinks, rubbers and pencils.

The class discovered that metal is a good conductor of electricity and plastic and wood are good insulators. The class concluded that that is why wires are covered in plastic to make them safe.

Great work Beech class.
