Nearly time for the reception Christmas show!

Practising for the Christmas show next week affected our daily routines but the children still managed to pack in a lot of activity this week.

In literacy we discussed Father Christmas and added our own verses to a poem entitled ‘What’s in Santa’s beard?’. The children painted Santa to decorate the infant corridor and we discussed their Christmas lists. Were they on Santa’s good list or his naughty list? Everyone was sure they were on his good list!

Christmas presents, cards and tree decorations are finished and our ‘Children around the World’ display is up in the infant corridor.

On Friday afternoon we celebrated Christmas by making a Christinlge. Each part of it is symbolic. We left them for you to light at home although I expect the sweets soon ended up in hungry tummies!

Santa’s grotto is ready for classroom role play and the children now look forward to their trip to the pantomime on Thursday morning. Normal school uniform please. Most children have opted for a school packed lunch but if you haven’t, please make it a 'sensible size' packed lunch in a named plastic bag. The drink must be in a carton or plastic bottle. We aim to have milk or water in the interval. We will eat our packed lunch in the theatre prior to travelling back to school.

We perform to the whole school on Wednesday morning and to the parents on Friday afternoon. You can take your child home directly they are ready after the show.

Please run through the songs at the weekend so that everyone is sure of all the words. We look forward to seeing you all next Friday afternoon.
