September is creeping ever closer!

Now that we are into the last half of the summer term, September and 60 reception children is looming ever closer!

There has been lots of changes outside with the foundations for the new build and with some of the services being prepared for our extension. Thank you for being so understanding about different access routes as children returned from their half term break. The builders were severely hampered by the rain during half term which meant they had to work all weekend to make sure the site was safe for our return.

By Wednesday all was back to normal and our attention turned to the foundations. The modules are due to be delivered from Tuesday 14th June so everything had to be made ready, and as the builders left this evening I was assured we are ‘good to go’ for Tuesday. That will be really exciting and we are all looking forward to seeing how our new school will look!

Willmott Dixon have been great this week, working really closely with the school to make our lives just a little bit easier! On Tuesday, Jack Wells, the site manager, came into assembly and spoke to all the children about what he was doing and site safety. He answered their questions and wasn’t too offended when he was told that his boots were very muddy! Then today he organised a few of his workmen to move all the equipment for the swingboats and roundabouts down onto the field. This saved us loads of work and meant no-one had to stay too late Friday night. They have also opened up a pathway for us to use at the summer fete so there is easy access between the field and the hall.

Please keep an eye on the live webcam next week and watch as the modules  arrive in school!
