Today, representatives from the Rotary Club of Hitchin held a special assembly to announce the names of the finalists and winners of the Young Writers Competition 2017.
Every child from Year 3 to Year 6 wrote a story based on the same image. Teachers then chose the stories which impressed them the most to put forward to the school's judges. A small team of teachers then chose the stories to send on to the Rotary Club Competition.
It was apparently incredibly difficult to choose the winners and the judges were very impressed with the standard of writing. The stories were well-structured, imaginative and full of fantastic description.
