The William Ransom Orbit

At the moment all we seem to be doing is packing boxes and getting ready to move and this has unearthed a whole lot of memories as we find things that we haven’t seen for years!

Recently we found some old photographs taken in the school grounds which show the school before we had 3 playgrounds, with some old mobile classrooms where the willow arch is. It was hard to try and place different things around the school site.

Looking through these old photographs made me think about how the school has changed in the 34 years I have been here and how many changes Mrs Brown must have seen in her 41 years! She has worked with 3 Headteachers and numerous members of staff and she has seen the school grow and develop into the successful school we have today. Mrs Brown has been a key element of that success; she has given this school her whole working career and has been central to most of the important occasions we have witnessed over the years. She will be greatly missed by us all, none more so than me. We have worked closely together for my 34 years and I have to thank her for everything she has done for me.

However, we are now entering a new phase in the life of William Ransom. When we return in September our existing building will look a little different, the ICT suite will have moved, we will have a bigger hall and a much larger dining area. We will also have our new block of classrooms with a new ICT suite and an Activity studio. It will be exciting for us all as we move into our new rooms, but especially for Miss Ayliffe who will start as our deputy headteacher in September. I am really looking forward to working alongside her and I am sure she is looking forward to working with all of you in her new role.

I hope you all have a lovely summer break. I hope the sun shines for you and that you all return on the 7th September, rested and ready for work.
