On Thursday the 1st of December the school A team played Our lady in the Wix Cup semi-final.
We went into the game with confidence because we had beaten them in a rally. The game kicked off and we were on the front foot from the beginning. However Our Lady defended well and we didn’t get many chances. Halftime came and it was still nil-nil.
After a quick team talk we were ready to start the 2nd half. We started to create chances but we just couldn’t finish them. Calum ran up the wing and got into their box before passing the ball back to the edge of the box where Joe was waiting for it. He shot on his first touch and hammered it into the top corner to claim his first goal for the school.
After this we created a lot more chances and got some shots off. Finley won a corner and crossed it to Freddie who headed it past the keeper and into the back of the net to make it two -nil. After this we went a bit more defensive and brought harry and Samuel on the pitch. But we still had some shots especially from Finley whose shot narrowly missed the top corner.
The final whistle came and we were relieved of the tension. We left the pitch with a smile because we were through to the final of the Wix cup!
