William Ransom win against Cockernhoe

After a cancellation a couple of weeks ago due to bad weather, Cockernhoe arrived at William Ransom to play our last game in the ‘mini-league’.The match started well but Charlie took an early injury as Cockernhoe cleared the ball and had to come off to ice his ankle. Tommy covered well with some good attacking and defensive play whilst he recovered enough to go back on.

The defence were working hard with good clearnces fron Chris, Tyler and Ben. Charlie ran forward as Ben moved up the pitch to help and scored the first goal. Oliver followed on after a great series of passes but kicked the ball straight into the goal keepers hands. It was not long however before Oliver had a second chance and scored off a cross by Charlie making the half time score 2-0.

The second half saw some excellent play by both sides but Oliver skillfully spun round and turned the ball into the goal. It was so quick nobody was quite sure how he managed it.Once again Oliver and Charlie surged forward after an excellent clearance by the William Ransom defence but Oliver at full stretch was unable to connect with the ball that Charlie put across the goal mouth. Just minutes after Oliver placed the ball in exactly the same way and Charlie failed to connect with it, so no hard feelings!

Cockernhoe had a free kick from a hand ball but failed to score. Finally after they conceded a corner Oliver managed to run through everyone to score his hatrick and the final score of 4-0.

Well done to both teams for some excellent play in great spirit and we now look forward to the end of season rally in a couple of weeks.
