William Ransom win the NHSSP High-5 Netball Tournament

On Tuesday 28th April, North Herts School Sport Partnership organised a High 5 Netball Tournament for schools in North Herts.  There were only five schools participating this year so there was time for everyone to play one another.

This was the first time for many weeks that the A-team had all been available to play and this combination of girls really played some exciting netball.

William Ransom played Weston in the first match. Weston only had five players so could not rotate positions at the end of the 6 minute half. The score was 10-0 after the 12 minute game with some exceptional shooting from the girls. The game against Offley they won 8-0, scoring four goals in each half. The Whitehill game was very tense as the two teams have been very evenly matched throughout the season and beat William Ransom by I goal to knock them out of the finals at the end of season rally. However today William Ransom kept their nerve as the goals were matched up to 2-2, as both teams took it in turns to score. Then William Ransom started to edge ahead and the final score was a 6-3 win for William Ransom,

The last game against Pixmore was fast moving but William Ransom had the taller team and this was an advantage as the girls won 9-1 using their height advantage to gain a second try at goal a few times.

William Ransom won all their matches, which meant they won the High-5 Tournament and they go through to the Herts School Games to represent North Herts. This will take place on Thursday 25th June at Wodson Park in Ware.
