Last week, Willow Class visited the Warner Bros Studio Tour – The making of Harry Potter. This was a new trip to William Ransom and it proved to be a great success!
In class, we have been studying the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and also looking at the film. Everyone was excited to see just how the story was brought to life and, of course, the props and sets from the films.
Our day began with a script-writing workshop at the studios. This was also a treasure trove of props; there was so much to look at and take in. The children were very pleased to be able to handle some of these props and worked in groups to create a story about their items. Everyone was enthused and worked really well together to create amazing story ideas; some were really quite dark!
After the workshop, we then continued our tour of the studios. It was an amazing day out and everyone came away inspired by all the creativity. If only William Ransom could be like Hogwarts…not sure about having trolls in the bathroom though!
