Beech’s Class Assembly

In the second half of spring term, Beech took to the stage to share their English work with their grown ups as part of their class assembly. They began by talking about our unit on Roald Dahl’s James and The Giant Peach which culminated in a visit to The Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden. As part of this, some read their scripts whilst others acted them out and we displayed some photographs from our trip before moving on to talk about David Walliams.

David Walliams was said to have loved reading Roald Dahl books growing up and they are a huge inspiration for his writing. We compared the authors as we read Mr Stink and some more children performed the original scenes written by the class in the style of Walliams. Our topics inspired some children when it came to dressing up for World Book Day too and the fun continues as we move on look at Michael Morpurgo’s The Butterfly Lion in summer term. Look out for Lime’s class assembly later this term!
