This week the children have had lots of opportunities to learn about China and Lunar New Year. In Topic time we have learnt how Lunar New Year is celebrated, the story of the Great Race and the animals that represent different years. In PE, in yoga class, we made movements and shapes to a Chinese story. We had a visit from Christine, a parent from Ash class, who we are extremely grateful to for giving up her time to talk to the children. We have also had lots of enhancements in our continuous provision (Chopsticks and noodles, a wishing tree, lantern making, writing Chinese letters, exploring what’s used to celebrate, etc), which the children have loved exploring in Discover & Do.
