Safety First!

This week Reception have been learning about how to keep safe at the railway station and on trains and also how to keep safe whilst travelling by car. The children were very knowledgeable already about both, knowing, for example, that they should stand behind the yellow line on the platform of a train station and not run. In the car they all knew that they must be in a car seat and have their seat belts done up.

Among other things, they learned that if they drop something onto the tracks they should never try to get it and that when getting in the car they should always get in on the pavement side.

We were lucky enough to be joined remotely via Teams by a member of the Hertfordshire team and Bear to learn about in-car safety, with the children joining in with actions from a story.
