Solid result at home to Our Lady

William Ransom have gained some good momentum after a poor opening game at home to Ickleford. The chance to try some new things in the early season rally at Wilshere Dacre was very helpful for the team, as it gave Mr Maranian and Mr Sears the opportunity to find the strongest positions and formation. The tournament was also very successful with the team winning all but one game which ended in a draw.

Since then the boys have worked very hard in training under the leadership of captain Tom Tingle. This showed during the match against Our Lady, with the boys passing the ball much more freely and taking better control over set pieces. There were some excellent passages of play throughout the match, with one ending in an excellent team goal, finished off by Calum. Earlier in the game Oli had fired us into the lead with a back-post finish from a corner. The game stayed at 2 – 0 and the boys were very happy with thier performance.

There was also good news for the B team, who had their second win of the season, with excellent Goals from Oliver, Harman and Harry.

Hopefully this good form can be carried into our next home fixture against Cockernhoe on the 8th of October.
