Today the children in Class 2 created a 3D map of the Isle of Struay from the Katie Morag books, following their work on mapping this term. They had made the main buildings and features from the island out of cereal boxes in preparation last week.
First we used blue wool to make the outline of the island, then the children used the map in the front of the books as reference to position their buildings in the right place within the outline. Finally, they gave instructions to the ‘Bee-Bot’ to direct it to various places on the island.
