This week is British Science week and we have celebrated in Year One by having a full day of science! The theme is Innovating For The Future and our focus has been on homes. The children were introduced to ideas about what our homes might look like in the future, how they might be powered and what new innovations we might see in our homes. We asked the children to design and draw their future homes and then design an invention for their home … Wallace and Gromit style! They spent the afternoon making their homes or inventions from junk modelling as well as making a windmill to create a whole class wind farm. It was a very busy day and the children all loved using their imaginations and creating their homes of the future!
