Kind Hands Kind Words in Holly Class

This week has been ‘Just Talk Week 2022: Look beneath the surface’. In Holly class, we have been discussing how by talking about things it helps us to stop worrying about them. If we tell a trusted adult our worries, they can help us to learn more about them and learn how to make things better. We have a ‘Worry Box’ in Holly class. Children can write or draw a note to put inside anonymously. Then we take time to talk about any worries they might have. We also regularly highlight the zones of Emotional Regulation and talk about ways to manage this.

We took part in an anti-bullying workshop this week. Hannah got everyone involved, working with partners they wouldn’t normally work with. In one of the activities, the children acted out something they felt they were good at and everyone said well done to them. All the children came away saying kind things about each other.

We finished the week by drawing ‘Helping Hands’.
