More news from William Ransom

We are extremely lucky to have such a busy group of parents who have been working hard behind the scenes keeping all aspects of the SPA going.

They have now set up their own Twitter account  https://twitter.com/WR_SPA and they ask that you all sign up to follow them. Their aim is that they will use this account for all things SPA related such as asking for donations, latest news, event info, reminders for the opening hours of the 2nd hand uniform tin etc, and to stop the main school account tweeting for us. It is not a private account so will not be used to tweet photos of children. It is hoped that at the start of 2021 all messages from the SPA will come out via this source so please sign up now to start to follow them.

Plans are going well for the Secret Present Room on Monday 7th December. Santa’s elves have been beavering away getting lots of things ready for the children to buy as Christmas presents for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. and of course their friends. As previously mentioned gifts will range from 50p – £3 and we suggest children bring their money in loose change – 50p and £1 coins. We want to avoid giving change. This is a magical experience for the children and is truly the only way they can buy secret presents for the people they want to give to. Everything will be conducted adhering to current safety guidance.

Police have received reports of lack of social distancing and complacency around face coverings at school drop off and pick up times.

We all have a responsibility to take steps in helping reduce the spread of coronavirus. With this in mind, all families are required (unless exempt) to adhere to the following points to ensure a safe arrival and departure at school for all involved:

  • Only one parent or guardian should drop off and pick up their child/children to reduce numbers outside school
  • Stay 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household
  • Make good use of all available entry and exit points to the school site to avoid bottleneck
  • Refrain from lengthy face-to-face conversation with staff or other families; use digital communication methods during lockdown
  • Go straight home after dropping and/or collecting your child/children
  • Consider wearing a face covering during pick up and drop off

Thank you for your support and understanding – together we will slow the spread of COVID-19 and save more lives.

Just a reminder that school is closed on Friday 27th November and Monday 30th November. Please do not send the children to school on these days!

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to make contact.
