Proposed expansion of William Ransom

Dear Parents

We would like to remind you about the public information event to be held by Hertfordshire County Council at this school on Thursday 9th July between 4.00pm and 8.30pm.

We have met with the County planners again today and we are now able to provide you with a copy of the preliminary site layout plan. This can be found below. Please note this has not yet been signed off by the school. More detailed plans will be on display on the evening and representatives from the HCC project team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The purpose of the event is to provide parents and local residents with the opportunity to view the scheme that will be submitted for planning permission for the permanent expansion of the school.  The proposals will enable the school to admit an additional 22 pupils per year.  It is proposed to remove the existing mobile classroom from the site and to replace it with a permanent two-storey classroom block.  The proposal includes a new multi-use game area on part of the school playing fields. The proposal also includes a small extension to the existing hall and additional parking spaces within the school.

The planning application is due to be submitted to the County Planning Authority this summer and local residents will be consulted as part of the process of determining the application.  This event provides the opportunity to view the proposal and raise questions prior to that consultation.

For those who are unable to attend the information event, details of the scheme will be available to view online from 9th July 2015 at:

We do hope that you will be able to join us at some point on the 9th July.

Yours faithfully
