So, you have survived your first week!!

I hope that you and all the children are keeping well and safe! I know we keep saying it, but these really are unprecedented times and I am so grateful to all of you for ‘doing your bit’ whether as a key worker or as a parent, keeping your children safe at home.

I am incredibly proud of how the staff team and the William Ransom community have worked together and are responding to challenges raised by the pandemic. I know many of you have had to make difficult decisions in relation to work and childcare but thank you for adhering to the advice and doing so with your child’s best interests at heart. You have supported us to ensure that pupil and staff contact is limited and in doing so, we are keeping our community safe.

It has been fantastic to hear that many of the children have joined in with Jo Wicks every morning or have painted a rainbow of hope to display in your window. I have tried to keep up my daily mile, doing it in school most days or out over the fields where I live on others.

The pictures I have seen of you working at home are wonderful; I wonder how many applications there will be for teacher training once this is all over?

I hope all the home learning packs that were sent home are proving useful. Teaching staff will also be adding to the activities on the school website so keep an eye open for these!

The children are learning much about resilience and problem solving from you and developing skills that will last for life. You have always been your child’s primary educator; know you are doing a brilliant job in these unexpected circumstances.

Please know we are here for you during this time, if you need any support from myself or a staff member, please email me.

Best wishes to all. Keep safe and well!
